Step 2 — Engineering Evaluation
ECKO evaluates transformer capacity, winding design, voltage regulation, temperature rise, insulation, protection components, enclosure and cable assembly.
Step 3 — Quotation and Drawing
You receive a commercial quotation together with the proposed electrical and mechanical specification. Key parameters are confirmed before prototype production.
Step 4 — Prototype Manufacturing
A custom sample is manufactured using the agreed materials and construction. Sample lead time can be as fast as 1–3 days for suitable projects with available materials.
Step 5 — Sample Verification
The customer checks electrical performance, dimensions, mounting, cable connections and operation with the actual equipment. Any required changes are reviewed before approval.
Step 6 — Pilot Run and Mass Production

Waterproof Transformers FAQ
1. What is the difference between IP65 and IP67 transformers?
An IP65 transformer is protected against dust and water jets. An IP67 transformer provides dust protection and resistance to temporary water immersion under specified test conditions. However, an IP67 rating does not automatically mean that a transformer can be permanently submerged or directly buried underground.
2. Can the transformer be buried underground?
A transformer should only be buried if it is specifically designed and certified for direct-burial installation. Even a fully potted IP67 transformer may require an accessible, ventilated or protected installation position. The product specification and applicable installation regulations must be checked before burial.
3. Can the transformer be used for swimming pool lights?
It can be used only when its output voltage, insulation system and safety design meet the requirements of the pool lighting system. Pool installations usually require a suitable safety-isolating transformer and additional protective devices. Installation must be completed according to local regulations by a qualified electrician.
4. Is the transformer compatible with LED landscape lights?
Provided the transformer’s output voltage, AC/DC type, capacity and load range match the LED fixtures. LED lights may have different startup characteristics from traditional halogen lamps, so compatibility with the LED driver should be confirmed before production or installation.
5. Can outdoor lights be dimmed through the transformer?
Dimming is possible only when the transformer, dimmer and lighting fixtures are mutually compatible. Some LED lights require a specific phase-cut, PWM or constant-voltage dimming method. ECKO can evaluate the electrical requirements and develop a suitable transformer solution for the lighting system.
6. Can a photocell or timer be connected to the lighting transformer?
A photocell, timer or smart control device can normally be installed on the transformer’s input side to control automatic switching. The control device must be rated for the input voltage, transformer load and possible startup current. Integrated photocell and timer functions can also be customized.
7. Why do low voltage outdoor lights flicker?
Flickering may be caused by insufficient transformer capacity, excessive voltage drop, loose connections, incompatible dimmers, unstable input voltage or an unsuitable LED driver. Checking the system load, cable size, terminal connections and voltage at the fixtures can help identify the cause.
8. What protection functions are available?
Depending on the design, a low voltage outdoor lighting transformer can include overload protection, short-circuit protection, overtemperature protection and an internal thermal fuse. Protective functions can be selected according to the rated power, installation environment and customer safety requirements.
